Field Notes was a Fotomuseum Antwerp Touring Exhibition.

In the early 1990s Paul Seawright became famous for documentary works focusing on the conflict in Northern Ireland. His images avoid the reality of violence and conflict: instead, through a forensic photographer’s eye, he shows us the sites long after the acts of brutality that occurred there.

Paul Seawright was born in Belfast in 1965. He is best known for his early work in his home city, particularly the series Sectarian Murder (1988) in which he photographed the sites of sectarian murders around Belfast and paired the images with newspaper reports. He has also produced series of photographs of post-war Afghanistan (Hidden) and urban Africa (Invisible Cities).
