Reservations (1980) is the first photo book by Diane Keaton, documenting unembellished corners and spare interior landscapes of American hotels. Through the collection of square black and white compositions, she quietly explores the materiality of each space — the sheen of dark velvet upholstery reflecting her camera’s flash, or the bent plastic line of a lamp cord stripping down pale wall. Keaton produced the work throughout her travels in the 1970's, traversing East to West with her Rolleiflex collecting photos from Miami Beach to Las Vegas.
